Special Olympics logo Dozens brave the elements to support Special Olympics at polar plunge
Gusty winds, rain and 40-degree temperatures greeted participants at the seventh annual Special Olympics “Freezin’ for a Reason” polar plunge November 3 at Chenango Valley State Park.

Among the hearty was a large contingent from Broome-Tioga BOCES, students and staff who braved the elements to help raise money to support Special Olympic athletes. The BOCES team led all others by raising more than $7,000. (click on headline to read more)

Students in our New Visions Health Academy spent a recent morning volunteering at the Discovery Center in Binghamton. The students, 28 in all, worked at preparing the center's Story Garden for the fall and winter seasons as well as getting some inside activities ready for visitors.
