Skill, creativity and outside-the-box thinking was displayed in abundance at Broome-Tioga BOCES' first-ever "Cosmo and Food Wars."
Teams of seniors in our Cosmetology and Culinary Arts programs entered into friendly competition to see who was the best in class from their respective fields.
The "Food Wars" portion of the event required the culinary students to create an entrée and dessert within a specific cuisine category, which was then judged by a professional panel as well as a general audience of staff and others in attendence. Award categories included people’s choice, best entrée, best dessert, and best overall cuisine.
The "Cosmo Wars" segment include 14 teams of senior cosmetology students working with the theme “Under the Sea” to prepare the hair, nails, make-up and dress design for a model who then showcased their unique look on a runway lined with professional judges.
