What is APPR?

APPR is a state-governed evaluation system that gives teachers and principals a rating at the end of every year. Teacher and principal ratings are based on two components: observations and student performance.

New York state law allows parents and legal guardians of a student to request the final evaluation ratings of teachers and principals to which the student is assigned for the current school year. Requests for this information need to be in writing using the teacher and/or principal request form below and mailed to:

Tom McNair, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction
435 Glenwood Road,
Binghamton, N.Y. 13905

Note: This information may be released only to parents or legal guardians. Broome-Tioga BOCES will verify that all requests have been submitted by a parent/guardian of a BOCES student.
