P-TECH student wins national 4-H award

The award comes with a $5,000 scholarship that can be applied to his college of choice. The honor also places him in contention for the 4-H Club’s top award, which carries a $10,000 scholarship.

Clyde’s achievement was the recent topic of a WBNG-TV news story, in which he explained his motivation: “No matter where you come from, no matter what color skin you have, you determine where you want to be,” Van Dyke said. “You can make that positive change in the community, and just know you can make a difference in the world.”
