BOCES supports Greater Chenango Cares event, receives award

In support of the event, the DOD has a long list of technical requirements and needs that were met by a team from Broome-Tioga BOCES’ Regional Information Center.

On July 23, defense department staff conducted a closing ceremony at which they handed out awards.  One of them, presented with a framed certificate signed by the colonel in charge, went to BOCES’ Assistant Coordinator Jeff Smith, who was recently assigned to Norwich when the district joined BOCES’ managed information technology service.

“Jeff did a great job organizing and communicating the needs of the DOD,” said Dawn Shannon, BOCES assistant superintendent for educational support and technology. “This recognition of his leadership by the Army and DOD is very unique.”
