A group of BOCES video production students got the chance to tour a local news station as part of their class this week. The students visited FOX 40 (WICZ) in Vestal to see how a local news station operates from the control room to how commercials are created. Station employees described their daily tasks, such as the technical director explaining how a control board works, or the creative department showing them how to time out a commercial.
Two of the students, Kaidan Wood and Katelynn Koshiniski, were even interviewed about their time at the station and how it compared to their studies in video production.
