BOCES Adult Education programs are designed for adults who are 18 years of age or older and have exited high school.  Cosmetology requires a high school diploma or GED.

This program teaches hair cutting, coloring, styling, and basic skincare, nail, and makeup techniques. Students will learn salon safety, sanitation, and customer service while gaining hands-on experience. The course prepares students for state board licensing and entry into the beauty industry.

Program Requirements
  • TABE Reading Assessment 
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Cosmetology Equipment Case (for cosmetology kit included in tuition)
  • Non-slip Footwear

Certification: Students who successfully complete this course and required hours will earn a temporary cosmetology license. Students must take and pass the NYS Licensing Board Exam to obtain their permanent license.

   Dates:  9/14/26-7/29/27
   Hours:  1,000 (class, shadowing, projects, and community service)
   Days:    Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
   Time:    3:30 - 9:00 pm
   Tuition: $10,998

Enrollment Process
  • Complete online application
  • Submit required documents
  • Schedule & take placement exam
  • Receive acceptance letter & invoice via email
  • Pay invoice to secure seat in class
  • Notification of class start date with detailed class information
  • Attend mandatory orientation
