BOCES duo named athletes of the year at Special Olympics event

 Adeline Guzzie, 21, was named female Athlete of the Year, while Joshua Brown, 14, took home the trophy for male Athlete of the Year.

Guzzie, enrolled this year in our Project Search program, competed in the softball throw and both the 50m and relay races.  She also competes in softball, tennis and floor hockey at the regional and state level, and competes locally in basketball, volleyball and bowling.

Brown is a student in our center-based Oak Tree program. At CV, he competed in softball throw as well as the 50m and relay races. Brown also swims, plays basketball and bowls. He also competes at regional and state events in cross country skiing and in floor hockey skills at the regional level.

Congratulations to both of these fine athletes.
