Those attending (pictured) included Sam Rickenback of Vestal, a
students in BOCES’ Criminal Justice II program; Angelica Wallace of Chenango
Forks, who attends BOCES’ Cosmetology II program; Connie Nguyen of Chenango
Valley, also a Cosmetology II student, and Nick Most of Maine-Endwell, a
student in BOCES’ Carpentry II program. All are seniors.
The conference, conducted November 1-3, gave SkillsUSA
officers a chance to network with their peers from other chapters and share
ideas about community service, fundraising, and other ways to build their
chapters. Approximately 440 students attended this year’s
conference. Each student presented their work to the audience and received
a Statesmanship Award.
This is the 50th anniversary of SkillsUSA New
York.
