The New York State School Boards Association awarded their "Champions of Change" banner to a team of BOCES students and staff who collaborated to develop a unique tool that enables students to better perform duties in the laundry center.
Dubbed “Project Reach for Success,” the joint effort will help maximize the independence of BOCES students in the work-experience program. A team of therapists, Center for Career & Technical Excellence teachers, work-experience staff, and students in the Manufacturing program all teamed up to create a special tool that enables students in wheelchairs, for example, reach to the back of laundering machines.
