Fifth-graders from a variety of area school districts are visiting the Broome-Tioga BOCES campus to learn about future careers in the Career & Technical Education Summer Camp, which began on July 15 and continues until July 26.
A STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) Academy also begin July 15, hosting students in Grades 7 - 10. They were able to build and program robots, among other STEAM activities.
Finally, the Summer Youth Employment Program is underway at Broome-Tioga BOCES, giving older students an opportunity to enjoy summer work. From building picnic tables for local parks to donation boxes for the Humane Society, the students earn money while supporting the community.
Local TV station WBNG visited the campus for a story on the summer camps during the week of July 15.
