STEM education gets a big boost with new hub
Community leaders from throughout our region gathered at the Endicott History and Heritage Center to formally launch a collaborative effort to advance science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education our area.

With seed money donated by Lockheed Martin, the Eastern Southern Tier STEM Hub will help fund the development of STEM teaching and learning opportunities for educators and students from elementary school through college, with the end goal being the creation of a  reliable pool of highly trained and technically capable talent.

The Hub, drawing upon expertise provided through BOCES and its 15 component school districts, Binghamton University and SUNY Broome, is working to recruit partners in industry, education, government and the community in general.

Broome-Tioga BOCES' School-to-Careers Partnership is serving as the conduit for the funding initiative.
