Student places in poster contest

Evertech art teacher Christine Crossgrove said the Underage Drinking Prevention Poster Contest was a great platform for raising awareness among her students about a very serious issue facing youth in New York state and nationally.

“It was incredibly valuable to discuss the dangers of underage drinking and go through the “toosmarttostart” website,” she said. “As a result, we had several meaningful conversations.”
Through their research, students learned how alcohol harms the developing brain, and that one person taking action to report or help stop underage drinking could make the difference in saving a life.
“I'm grateful we had the opportunity to educate our students and use art as a tool to reinforce a crucial message through this poster contest,” Crossgrove said.
