Approximately 350 students from 17 school districts – forming 90 teams - packed the gymnasium at BOCES to put their ingenuity, creativity and team-building schools to the test. In a race against the clock (a two-hour deadline), each team was challenged to create a functional Rube Goldberg machine out of a box of everyday household items.
The event is coordinated with help from SUNY Broome Community College, the Eastern Southern Tier STEM Hub and Broome-Tioga BOCES. The machines are judged by professional partners from local industry.
