Applying forensic anthropology methods on skeletal parts loaned from Cornell University, students learned to identify the varying characteristics of different races and genders as part of a broader unit on crime scene investigation.
Moving through a series of work stations, students observed, analyzed, measured and otherwise handled human skulls, ilia, femur bones and various other skeletal parts before recording and reporting their findings about a range of key human traits.
The integrated lab is designed to teach students how subjects such as English, math and science are integral components of crime scene investigation and other specialties within the field of criminal justice.
