Basin Street Jazz Band captures the essence of American Jazz from its early roots to the Roaring 20s to today's New Orleans Jazz, showcasing the group's diverse musical expertise with their signature, interactive performances and assembly programs, highlighting Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Prima, Preservation Hall, Rebirth Brass Band, Dr. John, Trombone Shorty, and more. 

Basin Street Jazz Band features experienced jazz musicians, music educators and performers, led by trombonist Dennis Martin, who plays in the style of jazz artist Jack Teagarden and with modern influences of New Orleans’ Trombone Shorty. Their performances include strong improvisation, vocals, solo and ensemble playing, and audience interaction/participation, with a traditional lineup of musicians: 3 - 4 Horns (trombone / trumpet / clarinet & tenor sax / & bari saxophone & flute) and 3-4 Rhythm Instruments (acoustic piano or electric keyboard/drums/bass guitar/harmonica, washboard & guitar).
