Grenadiers Alumni Drum Line

STUDENT PROGRAMS

 Grades: K-12

Clinic / Demonstration:
Our clinic/demonstration focuses on various aspects of the technical and musical characteristics of contemporary percussion battery playing, using both traditional grip and match grip.  It emphasizes the utilization of the Percussive Arts Society’s 40 International rudiments, the 26 Standard American Drum Rudiments, and several hybrid rudiments currently in use by percussion sections and organizations.  In coordination with the sponsoring teachers and schools, members of the ensemble can work directly with students to improve technique and stick control, and refine musical expression and general musicianship.  The presentation will include a demonstration of warm up and technical exercises as well as pieces which use these techniques.  The clinic can be modified to meet the specific needs of the school.

Concert Performance
Our concert performance consists of repertoire representative of the complete battery percussion literature, including pieces of historical significance such as “The Three Camps”, through classic drum solos such as “Chicago”, contemporary music including “Ink”, and original etudes and compositions written specifically for the Grenadiers Alumni Drum Line.  The performances can be modified to meet the specific needs of the school.
