The visit was facilitated by chief lineman Harold Jones with assistance from two recent graduates of NYSEG’s lineman school, Brett Pendorf and Wade Huebner. Their presentation included an introduction to the career field, and overview of lineman school, the safety requirements and job duties, the rewards and benefits of the work, and hands-on interaction with tools, an aerial lift truck, and a first-responder truck.
As the lineman workforce ages, NYSEG is focused on building awareness regarding this specialized career field.
