Approximately 850 students from
17 districts across the region attended the event. The BOCES team included 75 students
who competed in 38 different contests. Additionally, all 75 participated in the
SkillsUSA Statesman Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate leadership
skills and have mastered certain requirements in leadership training.
SkillsUSA is a national career and technical organization
serving more than 320,000 students and professional members enrolled in
training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations, including
health occupations. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and
industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA
helps each student excel and provides educational programs, events and
competitions that support career and technical education (CTE) in the nation’s
classrooms.
