Local business leaders learn the value of P-TECH program from student

During his 10-minute presentation at Binghamton University’s Downtown Center, Tyler-Rainey shared how the P-TECH is helping him reach his goal of simultaneously earning a high school diploma and associate degree.


The event was part of the chamber’s “connecting business to education” initiative, with the goal of ensuring vibrant future economy. This event focused on several key educational programs in our area, what they are doing to prepare students for the emerging workforce, and how they engage businesses to involve them in K-12 initiatives.


In addition to P-TECH, the programs presented included the Greater Binghamton Scholastic Challenge, Junior Achievement, New Visions, New York State Mentoring Program and Promise Zone.
