Bullock recognized for health leadership, advocacy

Broome-Tioga BOCES’ Professional Development and Resource Center Assistant Director Kerri Bullock has received the “Award of Distinction for School Administrator” from the New York State Association for Heath, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.

The award is given to a school administrator who has demonstrated a commitment to the enhancement of health education in their school district. Bullock was presented with a plaque that reads “Through your exemplary leadership and your extensive advocacy you have demonstrated your commitment to quality health education and physical education. By leading with courage and conviction, you have made a difference in the lives of the teachers and students you serve.”

Bullock in February was appointed to serve as a member of NYS AHPERD’s Executive Council and is president of its Central South Zone.

“NYS AHPERD is recognizing at a state level what we have known in this region for some time - that Kerri is an advocate for children and for educators,” said Dawn Shannon, BOCES’ assistant superintendent for education support and technology. “She is an outstanding educational leader who supports not only health and wellness initiatives for our districts, but also educational technology and quality instruction."
