Description:
Participants will learn how to use age appropriate transition assessments to guide instruction and inform IEP development. A valuable follow up session will be given in the spring to reinforce participants learning and application.
An overview of transition assessment in the morning will be followed by targeted planning and application after lunch, with the opportunity to explore resources for specific types of learners. There will be transition assessment tools available for use with a broad range of disabilities.
Outcomes:
- Go beyond the Level I/Age 12 Assessment
- Garner information on age-appropriate transition assessments to inform IEP development and career planning
- Develop a strong Present Level of Performance based on real assessment information
- Participants will leave with free assessments and resources
- Work directly with assessment tools that meet the needs of students
Follow Up Session:
Participants who have attended the full day transition assessment training are invited to share their successes and action plan for further developing their systems.
Note: Participants must bring a laptop, districts should send two staff. Please register for both sessions, the initial training and the follow up session for implementation review.
