Evertech students take part in JA program

A group of students in our Evertech High School are taking part in the Junior Achievement program sponsored by the Greater Binghamton Educational Outreach Program.

Terry Stark, who works with Junior Achievement, recently visited Evertech to guide students through a series of activities called “Get Hired: Collaboration and Creativity.”

The project had two key goals:

- Demonstrate collaboration with team members to accomplish work-based challenges

Recognize the components of a high-performance team

Students were challenged to use the “GRPI model” (goals, roles and responsibilities, processes, and interpersonal relationship skills) to build a structure using paperclips and index cards that is freestanding, tall, sturdy and creative – all within a specific time frame.
