BOCES athlete to compete in Special Olympics national games

Lamb, 15, a tenth-grader in BOCES’ Oak Tree program (for students with autism), was selected following his gold medal performance in the 400 m run at the state games this summer. His family and BOCES coach, Chelsea Hinman, are very excited and proud of his accomplishments and are making plans to go to the nationals to support him.

The 2018 Special Olympics USA Games will be conducted July 1-6 in Seattle, Wash.. More than 4,000 athletes and coaches representing 50 state programs and the District of Columbia are expected to attend, along with tens of thousands of volunteers and spectators. Athletes will compete in 14 Olympic-type team and individual sports.
