The librarians of the region nominated Waskie-Laura based on her vision and leadership and her advocacy for the work of librarians in our districts. She has served as the school library system (SLS) director in the Broome-Tioga BOCES region for the past five years. The school library systems encompasses a network of public and nonpublic school library media centers across the state. Waskie-Laura supports the collaboration of school libraries with public and university libraries to support student learning.
