Description:
Taikoza ‘s program is a very unique and popular program that features a variety of Japanese Taiko drums (that weigh up to 200 lb.), colorful dances and the sound of the soulful bamboo flutes. The program takes students on an unforgettable journey through Japan while exploring the different seasons and festivals. The program includes a fun and comical number that will allow some of students to play the drums themselves.
The students will be experiencing a new culture in a fun and exciting way.
Students will:
• Learn about a new culture and learning about its history and the context in which the music is used in Japan.
• Learning and listening to Japanese music, opening their minds to a new music that they are not familiar with, new scales and melodies
• Learning about the importance of teamwork to create harmony – that each member is important to create the harmony of that group
• Learn about the importance of practice to achieve a skill
• Learn about taiko, the background, how to play the drums, when they are used and how they are made
• Learn about bamboo flutes, names, differences of flutes and sounds
• Learn about Japanese Traditional dances, movements and customs.
• Learn about Japanese festivals

Cost:
$1,050 - 1 performance
$1,500 - (back-to-back performances) (2 performances same school/same day)
$700 - 1 performance each school for 2-3 schools in same district on same day or 2 consecutive days
$1,150 -- 2 performances each school for minimum 2 schools in same district in one day or 2 consecutive days
