The Arts-In-Education service offers component school districts cooperative performance scheduling of professional artists in the areas of dance, music, art, theater, and the visual arts. Performances take place at participating schools or at a central performing arts center. Residencies in the arts are an integral part of this service and can be custom designed to fit district curriculum needs. All performances serve to enhance the regular curriculum and to integrate the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts. The 2007-2009 Arts in Education Directory is available online to help administrators, coordinators, teachers and PTA representatives select artists that meet these goals.
Please read the instructions on how to find and request an artist from the directory. Please note that you are not limited to the artists in the online directory. To arrange for a potential new artist or for further information you may contact Tammi Goltry at 766-3772 or tgoltry@btboces.org. Transportation and lodging for activities associated with this Co-Ser are not eligible for BOCES aid.
