The cooperative Telephone Interconnect Service is designed to provide participating school districts with a cost-effective and efficient network for voice and data communications.

This is accomplished by:

• Negotiating shared contracts with each local exchange carrier
• Establishing interconnects and calling patterns to generate cost savings
• Utilizing a shared telephone bill processing service at BOCES
• Long distance billing
• All telephone bills handled under this service is rolled into the regional e-rate application

The service is flexible and will allow districts to maintain control of telephone services within their schools. Districts participating in this service will be known as the Broome-Tioga BOCES/Binghamton Consortium.

Aid Restriction: 50% of local exchange carrier charges are aid able.
