Experience the Difference

The Career & Technical High School opened in September 1999 as a full-day academic and vocational high school for grades 11 and 12. The school year ended with 20 students from eight component districts who had the opportunity to explore 28 career areas.

Today the Career & Technical High School has more than 100 students in grades 9-12 from 13 component school districts. Students can explore 28 career areas and 28 academic course offerings.

Students:

  • Receive a Regents diploma plus a Certificate of Proficiency in their field of study,
  • Begin exploring career goals in the ninth grade,
  • Obtain a firsthand view of a chosen career and gain technical skills by working in local business,
  • Learn in a state-of-the-art technological environment.
  • Are prepared to enter a two-year or four-year technical college or explore the job market with marketable skills.
